Running out of space and using 20TB drives? You may need to go up one step higher to newer 22TB models. Not every NAS supports this new capacity, but there are more enclosures being added to the list. ASUSTOR has announced full support for 22TB drives in its latest Lockerstor Gen2 series of Intel-powered NAS.
ASUSTOR launched the new Lockerstor Gen2 series in June and we were mightily impressed by the ASUSTOR Lockerstor 2 Gen2 (AS6702T). The entire range has the latest Intel Celeron N-series processors, M.2 slots, up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, HDMI output, and 2.5Gb networking.
That clearly wasn’t enough for ASUSTOR, taking the top spot in our best NAS collection with the excellent AS6702T. The company has announced official support for drives with a capacity of up to 22TB. The only caveat of this news is this support is limited to the Lockerstor Gen2 series for now.

If you’re wanting the latest and greatest from ASUSTOR with full support for the largest drives on the market, I’ve compiled the Lockerstor Gen2 series of enclosures in the above table. You can easily compare the specifications (and price) of the three. As always, I highly recommend using the best NAS drives with your enclosure.
