ASUSTOR releases ADM 4.2.4.RL82 update

ASUSTOR has rolled out a new system update for its branded NAS enclosures, bumping the operating system up to ADM 4.2.4.RL82. This latest release adds support for the new Xpanstor 4 NAS, as well as some notable improvements and bug fixing. This guide will run you through everything that’s new and how to go about installing it on your NAS.

What’s new in ADM 4.2.4.RL82

The ADM 4.2.4.RL82 update is only available for AS31, 32, 40, 61, 62, 63, 64, 52, 53, 54, Drivestor, Drivestor Pro, Lockerstor, Lockerstor Gen2, Lockerstor Pro, and Flashstor NAS. As well as supporting the new ASUSTOR Xpanstor 4 (AS5004U), the update includes the following:


  • Web Server apps can now work properly with the correct owner privileges.
  • New shared links made on ADM File explorer will apply URL shortening.
  • Administrators can now see user homes by default when initializing an ASUSTOR NAS with ADM 4.2.4.


  • Fixes issues relating to the AS-U2.5G2 and Link aggregation.
  • ADM File Explorer bug fixes.
  • ADM Backup & Restore bug fixes.
  • App Central bug fixes.
  • Improved multilingual strings.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes.

ASUSTOR ensures the process for updating an enclosure’s ADM OS is painless. We’ve compiled a short list of steps you can take to update the NAS, as well as set up automated update notifications. Here’s how to do it for this latest release on the best NAS:

  1. Back up all the data stored on your ASUSTOR NAS.
  2. Go to Settings > ADM Update.
  3. Make sure Enable update notifications is checked if you want to receive notifications when you log onto the NAS.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the update process.

You can also click on “Manual Update” to upload an OS update package downloaded from the ASUSTOR website.
