ASUSTOR releases ADM 4.3.1.R6C1 with some fixes and minor changes

Running an ASUSTOR NAS? I’ve got some good news for you as the company rolls out yet another OS update. ADM 4.3.1.R6C1 introduces some changes and fixes, following the large 4.3.0 update. It’s always good to keep your NAS running the latest OS version so here’s everything you need to know about this version of ADM.

Which ASUSTOR NAS can receive ADM 4.3.1?

As with any NAS OS update, I recommend you back up everything on your ASUSTOR enclosure before installing ADM 4.3.1. The company requires you to be running an AS31, 32, 40, 61, 62, 63, 64, Nimbustor, Nimbustor Gen2, Drivestor, Drivestor Lite, Drivestor Pro, Drivestor Pro Gen2, Lockerstor, Lockerstor Gen2, Lockerstor Pro, or Flashstor NAS for this update.

Don’t worry if you’re using an older ASUSTOR NAS that’s not receiving all the latest updates. I’ve got a collection of my favorite branded enclosures that are perfect for various applications, be it storing data at home, collaborating in the office, or running a home labs server.

What’s new in the ADM 4.3.1 update?

ADM 4.3.0 was a relatively large update and so ADM 4.3.1 could be considered a minor patch to fix a few things. Some minor improvements have been added to ADM 4.3.1. Here’s a run down of everything included with this NAS OS release.

  • Web Center and Reverse Proxy now support the HTTP/2 protocol.
  • It is now possible to set a NAS as an NTP server in ADM Settings.
  • ADM now supports browsing HEIF, HIF, DNG and ORF images.
  • Server-side configuration files can now be imported to the WireGuard VPN client.
  • ADM can now generate the QR code properly for configuring 2-step verification.
  • Added support for Broadcom SAS HBA 9305-16e PCIe SAS HBA (Lockerstor 12R Pro, Lockerstor 16R Pro).

  • ADM File Explorer bug fixes.
  • ADM Backup & Restore bug fixes.
  • Searchlight bug fixes.
  • Web Center bug fixes.
  • Improved multilingual strings.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes.

While ASUSTOR makes updating ADM painless, I always recommend backing up all your data before attempting to do so. When you’re ready, I’ve compiled a short list of steps you can take to update the NAS, as well as set up automated update notifications. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Back up all the data stored on your ASUSTOR NAS.
  2. Go to Settings > ADM Update.
  3. Make sure Enable update notifications is checked if you want to receive notifications when you log onto the NAS.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the update process.

You can also click on “Manual Update” to upload an OS update package downloaded from the ASUSTOR website. Note that once you’ve updated to 4.3.0, you won’t be able to downgrade to an earlier version of ADM.
