There are so many deals for Amazon Prime Day that it’s difficult to keep up. Lucky for you, I’ve gone through them all to shortlist NAS enclosures and drive discounts that are worth paying attention to. There’s one deal that stood out for me, however, and you’d regret missing out on this opportunity.
I’ve been rounding up the best Prime Day NAS deals but seeing the Synology DiskStation DS220+ at such a low price yet again is another ideal opportunity for those looking to buy their first enclosure. It’s currently discounted by $54, bringing the price to just $246 on Amazon.
Save $54 on the Synology DiskStation DS220+

Synology DiskStation DS220+ | $300 $246
The DS220+ from Synology may be a few years old now but this enclosure has it all. You’ve got two drive bays, an Intel processor, two 1Gb LAN ports, upgradable RAM, and a class-leading OS.
Inside the Synology DiskStation DS220+ is an Intel Celeron J4025 processor, which is capable of boosting to a whopping 2.9GHz. This may not sound like much when compared to a desktop-class CPU, but this puppy is passively cooled and draws far less power.
Then there’s the 2GB of DDR4 RAM. This can be expanded to up to 6GB, but you could take it further as the CPU officially supports 8GB and owners of the NAS have managed to go up to 16GB though your mileage will vary and Synology would not offer support.
The two drive bays would allow for up to 40TB of raw capacity, which would fall to 20TB with two 20TB drives due to the use of RAID for data protection. It’s still ample space for storing everything you need on a NAS, including setting up a Plex Media Server.
Like most NAS enclosures, the DS220+ comes without drives, so be sure to check out my recommendations on the best NAS drives to populate your new NAS.
