Plex Media Server update is now available

Plex rolls out a small server update.

The Plex team announced the release of Plex Media Server version for media servers. It’s a small release that includes more fixes than features and the only new addition to the experience is the transponders list for a German cable provider. It’s still worth updating, however.

What is Plex Media Server

Plex Media Server update includes the following:

  • (DVR) Add Transponders list for dvb-c NetColgone German Cable provider (#12012).

  • (DVR) Fix port rebind issue on PTS restart (#12988).
  • (Metadata) Editing director, writer or producer fields could result in duplicated entries (#13384).
  • (Windows) Sonic Analysis would fail.

How to install this Plex Media Server update

Most NAS enclosures allow you to install and update Plex Media Server through their respective package manager. I’d recommend doing it manually, however, so you have access to the latest features and fixes ahead of time.

Simply download the Plex Media Server package from the Plex website and manually apply it to your server.
