QNAP launches QVP-85B and QVP-63B network surveillance servers

QNAP has announced two new NVR network surveillance servers. The QNAP QVP-85B and QVP-63B offer eight and six bays for installing larger drives, respectively. They’re powered by Intel Core processors with up to six cores and have dual 2.5GbE networking for speedy access to the LAN. They really are two of the best NAS for setting up your own security system.

The QVP-85B and QVP-63B both run QVR Pro surveillance software with eight free IP channels. An additional 26 and 22 can be purchased for the two NVRs, respectively, bringing the total number of live cameras supported up to 34 and 30 at 1080p. QNAP offers a number of solutions for managing surveillance applications.

QVP Center can centrally manage and monitor multiple QVR Pro servers and receive event notifications, QVR Guard can automatically take over recording tasks if a QVR Pro server fails, and QVR Face can obtain real-time and automatic facial recognition and analytics. Then there’s QVR Smart Search which can find event recordings within a specified time and area.

The QNAP QVP-85B is the beefier NVR of the two, but regardless of which you pick, you’re going to have a grand time setting up and using a powerful surveillance solution with the best IP cameras. M.2 slots are present alongside the ability to attach a QNAP expansion unit for expanding the internal storage capacity, which should be populated with the best NAS drives.

These are considerably more powerful than existing NVR appliances from QNAP (as well as the best NAS) and as such, you can expect to pay a fair penny for them once they’re made available.
