TerraMaster announces two new Intel-powered NAS rackmounts

Need some business storage? TerraMaster has you covered.

TerraMaster announced the new U4-423 and U8-423 rackmount NAS enclosures. These units are designed for small to medium-sized businesses that have a lot of data to store. Both enclosures are equipped with a quad-core Jasper Lake Intel processor and two 2.5Gb LAN connections.

These new NAS rackmounts are very much like the F2-423 and F4-423 enclosures that were released for consumers, except in a form factor better suited to data centres. The processor in question is the quad-core Intel Celeron N5105/5095 with a turbo boost of up to 2.9GHz. The U4-423 and U8-423 come with 4GB of DDR4 RAM that can be bumped to 32GB.

A dedicated M.2 slot is also present to help speed up the performance of mechanical drives in an array. The two 2.5Gb connections can be linked together for additional bandwidth, but you should be good for up to 280MB/s or so with a single client. In terms of RAID, single, 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 are available.

A highlight feature of the U4-423 and U8-423 is TerraMaster iSCSI, which allows for VMware vSphere and Windows Hyper-V virtualization support. The two rackmount NAS enclosures are available right now for $799.99 and $1099.99, respectively.
